5 New Years Wellness Resolutions (Made Easy)
Treat yourself to a new you this new year! If your goals for 2011 include a healthier, happier, more inspired you, the following wellness resolutions may be exactly what you need.
1. Take a Moment
Take a moment alone each day in a quiet place and allow your mind to rest. Even just a few moments in nature or another peaceful place can bring you back to center and leave you feeling calm and confident for the entire day.
2. Treat Yourself
Schedule a massage, acupuncture or yoga class for yourself. If you enjoy the benefits, reschedule!
3. Do Something for a Cause
Connect with a cause you believe in, and do something for that cause. You’ll find that while you are focusing on others’ wellbeing you improve your own health and happiness.
4. Exercise
Just 15 or more minutes a day of cardio benefits the circulatory, respiratory and lymphatic systems; increasing your body’s immune and endorphin response, activating your body’s innate healing ability while balancing your mood, appetite, and sleep cycles. If you lack the inspiration to exercise, try inviting a friend along!
5. Hydrate
Drinking water is one of the best and easiest things you can do for your health. Dehydration can lead to headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. If you have a hard time drinking enough water (8 or more glasses per day, depending your body type) try adding a slice of lemon or lime to your water, or even a sprig of mint.
