Hidden Beauty Around Telluride
With a heat wave blanketing most of the US, I think everyone is fully aware that Summer is in full swing. One reason most locals give as their reason for moving to Telluride, is how great it is here in the Summer. Temperatures are mild and the humidity is low, granted it is a much drier climate and you must stay hydrated so that you do not end up visiting another of our landmarks, the Telluride Medical Center....that one does NOT need to be on your "to do" list.
With such amazing weather conditions, it gives all of us a chance to venture out into the surrounding areas and do some exploring. This past weekend our Guest Services Manager, Sandy did just that and captured some of the most breathtaking images of why this part of Colorado is so amazing. They hiked into and above Ice Lakes Basin, going over Ophir Pass toward Silverton. These basin/lakes are just on the other side of the ridge from Hope Lake, for those of you wishing to map out a trip to this location. Hiking the trails around Telluride is just one of the many passions of many of our staff and I highly recommend taking advantage of their vast knowledge if you come for a visit. They can recommend trails from beginner to advanced and can even clue you in as to hidden areas that hold the best views.
So maybe it's time to get out of the heat and plan a trip to Telluride. We still have Summer Packages with discounts on long weekend stays...I'll let the image below speak for itself.
